Dublin City Council has announced a new partnership with bike-share provider Bleeper. The partnership will see Bleeper carry out a new electric cargo bike program for the city's local businesses.
More specifically, the program will give local businesses exclusive access to e-cargo bikes at a discounted rate, encouraging them to utilize Bleeper's eco-friendly alternative to gas-powered delivery vehicles. The new scheme will run for just six months as a trial and is currently open for application for any Dublin-based business. The one requirement is that the businesses must have a suitable space to store the e-cargo bikes.
The cargobikes themselves offer a carrying capacity of 60kg and are equipped with a powerful battery capable of lasting 160km. “We’re offering a low-risk and low-cost opportunity for businesses to try out a transportation solution which is better for the climate, better for the environment, better for staff wellbeing, and better for the bottom line," said Jennifer McGrath, head of micro-mobility in Dublin City Council.
