The legging material is made up of recycled polyester that was made from old water bottles -- with 25 water bottles being used to make each individual pair. Girlfriend Collective purposely choose not to use Lycra, which is the fabric used in most black leggings on the market and can lead to negative impacts on the environment and communities. The black leggings are made in Vietnam in an ethical factory that has safe working conditions, offers living wages for workers and does not use forced or child labor.
