Bitcoin for retail might have seemed like an ambitious concept before, but the mode of payment is beginning to be embraced by an increasing number of retail spaces -- both online and off. In France, for example, this venture is on its way. In the month of September, it was announced that crypto payments will be accepted in over 25,000 retail stores across the country. The cryptocurrency will be immediately transferred to euros at the point when the purchase is made.
The ambitious and disruptive project is powered by point-of-sale provider Global POS, as well as payment platforms EasyWallet and Easy2Play. Brands that are embracing the Bitcoin for retail concept include World House, Intersport, Cultura, Foot Locker, Maisons du Monde, Boulanger, and more.
