A Team of Designers Create the Birdaid Concept
References: yankodesign
A team of designers, comprised of Zay Kim, Chaewon Lee, and Jungmin Park work together to create the Birdaid concept. It is a progressive, biodegradable splint which is meant to provide immediate help for wild birds who have come into injury. The project comes from a place of compassion and sustainability for wildlife.
The Birdaid is made from natural materials -- it features a build of eggshell calcium, potato starch, and agar. The materials were selected as it forms a natural calcium for when the bones recover and the rest are meant to decompose. There are three splint versions that help users identify how severe an injury is and which to apply onto the wound.
