Spanish designer and artist Maruja Mallo drew inspiration from one of her own deep sea paintings for her Bimba and Lola Spring 2014 collection.
Drawing from a 1950s paintings Mallo titled 'Mermaids,' this fishy fashionable line features an array of apparel adorned in shimmery metallic leather covered in beautiful greens and golds. Going for a more under the sea feel, Mallo used an abundant amount of loose knits in her latest collection to symbolize fishing nets as well as the soft motions of a mermaids tail swishing through the water. All of the fabric in this collection is heavily accented with beautiful patterns as well as neoprene to resemble sea sponges.
The Bimba and Lola Spring 2014 line is beautifully designed and most likely Ariel approved.
