Bluestone Equity Partners led a $55 million growth equity investment in Poolhouse, funding the company's global expansion of its Poolhouse BillyQ technology and premium, tech-enabled cue sports venues. Developed over six years with the team behind Hawk-Eye, BillyQ combines projection and precision tracking to overlay interactive gameplay, automated scoring and real-time analytics directly onto traditional pool tables, alongside a dynamic handicapping model for mixed-skill competition.
Founded by Topgolf and Puttshack creators Steve and Dave Jolliffe, Poolhouse's flagship London venue has already opened to a strong reception, with U.S. locations planned for New York City and Nashville alongside a franchise agreement in Australia.
Poolhouse shows how applying broadcast-grade tracking technology to an underpenetrated, centuries-old game can transform a legacy social sport into a new participatory entertainment category.
