Stripped is Bill Watterson's First Published Cartoon After 19 Years

Bill Watterson is back at the drawing board for another round with his Calvin and Hobbes illustrated movie poster. The celebrated and secluded artist has illustrated the movie poster for the film 'Stripped.' The film is a feature-length documentary about comics. The film discusses the story of the decline of newspapers and how it has affected and is still affecting the medium of strip comics.

Bill Watterson gave a very candid and rare interview for the feature film. Watterson's character and style are very present in the poster with his iconic touches splashed throughout the illustration. The cartoon is Bill Watterson's first since the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip which ended in 1995.

Stripped was created out of a Kickstarter campaign. It describes itself as a "love letter to comic strips." The documentary is now available for preorder on iTunes.
