The Suzuki Bergman Fuel-Cell Scooter Has a Range of 217 Miles

Suzuki is celebrating this week after the Bergman Fuel-Cell Scooter was given Whole Vehicle Type Approval by the EU. The scooter earned the "pan-European endorsement reflecting recognition of the Burgman Fuel-Cell Scooter’s high levels of environmental performance and safety." What this means is that the Bergman is one step closer to hitting showroom floors.

The Bergman Fuel-Cell Scooter is actually a hybrid scooter powered by a lithium-ion battery and PEM fuel-cells from British company Intelligent Energy. The Bergman Fuel-Cell Scooter is said to get 217 miles per tank while emitting only water vapor. Despite the recent approval from the EU, Suzuki's groundbreaking scooter is still a long time coming. Suzuki expects the Bergman to launch sometime in the middle of the decade.
