Bang & Olufsen recently released five unique BeoSound 1 speakers in collaboration with Sotheby's. This collaboration is being called a "celebration of the art of design," with the speakers featuring a distinct shape and style that stand out among the hordes of portable speakers. A limited amount of "1/1" engraved BeoSound 1 speakers will be auctioned exclusively through Soethby's. The speakers available for auction were originally produced as one-offs for a trade show in 2016.
The speakers themselves are available in five exclusive colors of gray, tan, orange, maroon and pink. The conical design of the BeoSound 1 speaker was crafted by award-winning industrial designer Torsten Valeur and was specifically chosen to provide an exceptional 360-degree sound dispersion.
Soethby's estimates the speakers selling for anywhere between $3,000 and $5,000 at the auction, which is over double the original price of the speakers.
