The Ferrari LaFerrari is a coveted supercar, so the brand is now adding an additional one to the production line to benefit victims of the Italy earthquake.

Chairman and CEO of Ferrari Sergio Marchionne announced that while 499 LaFerraris were set to be created, an additional vehicle will be made to bring the total to 500. The additional vehicle -- valued at $1.416 million MSRP -- will be auctioned off to help benefit victims of the earthquake in Italy that took place on August 24th.

The announcement of the move from Ferrari to donate the brand's first hybrid supercar has been met with praise for the brand's commitment to helping those affected by the earthquake. The vehicle is set to go for auction with estimates concluding that it will likely surpass the MSRP.
