The BCBG Max Azria Fall 2014 Collection Nods to Decades Past
Laura McQuarrie — February 8, 2014 — Fashion
The BCBG Max Azria Fall 2014 show that walked the runway at New York Fashion week was a triumphant 25th anniversary show, highlighting some of its signature brand elements that have made it so successful; color-blocking, asymmetry and juxtaposing materials were all part of this story. Another unmissable component of the Fall 2014 collection was fur and lots of it. Furs from foxes, raccoons, rabbits and sheepskin was used as trim on coats, collars and as hand-warming muffs. There’s one jacket that goes all out with the animal fur and although it would surely keep its wearer warm, it’s a little excessive.
With fur, colors and garments like ponchos, the relaxed look of the silhouettes gave the whole collection a 70s feel, that made it all about celebrating the past just as much as the future of BCBG Max Azria in fashion for years to come.
