Cobs' Promotional Bags of Popcorn Take Cues from Famous Movie Lines

As a sponsor of the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), natural popcorn maker Cobs created special-edition sampler bags of popcorn that were given away at the event.

To play up two flavors—Sea Salt and Aged White Cheddar—Cobs tasked Watts Design with creating dynamic designs for its snack bags. The final black and white popcorn bag designs feature elegant images that remind of old Hollywood, as well as famous movie quotes that have been twisted around to better promote the brand's popcorn flavors. For instance, one James Bond-inspired design presents the snack product as: "Cheddar, Aged White Cheddar," while a different bag reinterprets a well-known line from Casablanca as: "Here's looking at you, Sea Salt."

These film-inspired bags of popcorn show how special-edition product packaging can play a part in helping a sponsor fit seamlessly into an event.
