Direct selling company Avon is launching a personalized beauty Avon app that will help its millions of representatives deliver a highly tailored level of service to customers.

The personalized beauty app makes it possible for Avon representatives to use a color tool to match an individual to one of the 40 different foundation shades offered by the company. Other skincare needs can be addressed with the app as well, as a picture of one's skin may be taken and processed by an algorithm to generate personalized product recommendations.

Since Avon's beauty products generate a high percentage of its total revenue, yet many consumers have difficulty discovering the right cosmetic shades, this app has the potential to increase customer retention and trust.
