Spanish artist Oscar Sanmartin has focused his artwork on surreal themes. Trains with tails and humans with flippers for feet have been at the center of his graphic illustrations. The authentic feel of his pieces has also been critical to his work, a theme that has been maintained with the help of sepia finishes and weathered pictures of young children.
Oxford shoes on wheels and apples with rib cage's are emblazoned across Sanmartin's canvases. And though these themes are distinct from one another, they are at the same time united via their imaginative and authentic qualities. In addition to being entirely visionary, they also capture a classic old world vintage vibe with minimal coloring and passé subject matter.
