David Colombini's Attachment Project Sends Notes Via Balloon

Air mail is one thing, but Attachment by artist David Colombini brings a whole new meaning to the idea of transporting mail through the air. The project involves a poetry machine, which is connected to a website that lets people from all around the world type in messages that someone will hopefully receive via balloon.

Through the site, people are able to add text, pictures and video links that are then printed and preserved in a tube for safe keeping. The biodegradable balloon is then launched into the air, with the hopes that someone, somewhere will find it and enjoy reading or viewing whatever message was attached to the balloon. While most people send a message with someone particular in mind, Attachment leaves that up to destiny.
