Futuristic Gym Courts

The ASB Glassfloor Can Change Depending on What Sport is Being Played

Described as the "most advanced flooring system in the world" on its website, the ASB GlassFloor lives up to this high standard. Unlike the traditional wooden floors used in school gyms and more sophisticated sports facilities, the ASB GlassFloor is versatile for different needs. Beneath its transparent surface there lies embedded a series of lights that change the size and lines of the court. This allows it to be used for different sports such as basketball and squash.

Developed by German company ASB Systembau, the ASB GlassFloor is comprised of an aluminum substructure and a custom-made surface of glass, which has been tempered to yield ideal elasticity, friction and reflection of light. In addition to the lights, the ASB GlassFloor is also capable of displaying video messages and scoreboards.
