Nextech AR Solutions Corp. has announced that it will acquire AR cloud-based 3D mapping startup ARway. The acquisition represents a recent move by the company to focus its efforts on the building for the Metaverse.
ARway is a Unity-based spatial mapping platform designed to assist companies with the creation of content for the Metaverse. It uses AI software to scan and recognize environments for "hyper-accurate location-based 3D mapping." ARway provides users with 'Augmented Reality Software Kit' that allows them to frame a digital world in a matter of minutes.
This acquisition is significant as it officially makes Nextech a Metaverse company, offering its own "mini-metaverse" to interested brands and companies. The company hopes to "create mini-metaverses based on geolocation like museums, corporate headquarters, theme parks, sports stadiums, University Campuses and more," said Evan Gappelberg, CEO of Nextech.
