Glenfiddich Runs an Artists-in-Residence for Canadians

Glenfiddich, known as "Canada's favorite single malt Scotch whisky," runs an exciting Artists in Residence program. In its 18th rendition, this program now accepts applications, and participation is valued at over CAD 25,000. The application deadline is January 31, 2024, and the winning artist will be announced in early March 2024. Past winners include Derek Liddington, Annie Pootoogook, and Daniel Barrow.

The Artists in Residence program is a three-month, all-expenses-paid residency, held in Dufftown, Scotland. Its aim is to foster cross-disciplinary ideas for one Canadian artist. The program has hosted over a hundred global artists, and alongside the 2024 Canadian recipient, artists from China, Taiwan, Scotland, South Korea, and India will also participate. Andy Fairgrieve, Glenfiddich Artists in Residence Coordinator, comments: "“Annually, we are joined by a new group of passionate artists with a vast array of mediums, and we are profoundly impressed by the works they create at the idyllic Glenfiddich distillery in Dufftown.”
