Snapchat is launching an augmented reality art platform on art.snapchat.com that will help art lovers around the world see public destinations brought to life by vibrant virtual sculptures.
On the platform, artist Jeff Koons is the first to be spotlighted. Just as users are able to use Snapchat Lenses, the new AR art feature will direct users towards art pieces that can only be seen through the screen of a mobile device. With this new art feature from Snapchat, users will be able to see iconic sculptures like various balloon animals from Koons.
All of the special art lenses are shown on a special SnapMap, with the AR installations scattered around the world in major destinations like Toronto, New York, Paris and London.
