Water-Based Fragrance Technologies

CPL Aromas' AromaHydro Delivers Alcohol-Free Concentrates

CPL Aromas launched AromaHydro, a water-based, alcohol-free concentrated fragrance technology that dilutes with water to produce ready-to-use fine fragrances, featuring a formulation designed to replace traditional ethanol solvents. The launch was announced by CPL Aromas on 11-Feb-2026 and the offering is presented as patent-pending.

The technology reduces reliance on solubilisers and eliminates common sensory issues such as stickiness, producing a cleaner, lighter spray with enhanced skin feel and longer-lasting scent on skin. CPL positioned AromaHydro as aligned with its Benefits Platform, highlighting sustainability gains from avoiding ethanol production’s heavy water footprint and simpler storage and labelling.

For brands and consumers this matters because AromaHydro promises easier production logistics, improved safety and a more hydrating application experience, fitting broader clean-beauty and sustainable formulation trends without sacrificing performance.
