Based in London, Sofia Prantera and Fergus Purcell launched Aries in 2013 as a women's brand, but have just unveiled an Aries Menswear capsule. The collection recalls the 90s vibes of "Trash Pop," with pieces that range from graphic t-shirts, sweat pants, Hawaiian prints, track suits, fleece garments, and denim apparel. The unique graphics in the collection are inspired by "classical symbols and ancient civilizations." When asked about why Aries broadened into a unisex clothing brand, Prantera explains that her background lies in menswear and that a lot of that streetwear stems from men's style.
Prantera states that her encompassing vision for this new collection is "to be a vehicle for creative expression and collaboration." She explained this further by saying, "For me that’s what a label can be just like a magazine or a great store, I like surrounding myself with smart and interesting people to work with and Aries is a great vehicle for me to do that. Of course is great to see the product and the community around Aries growing in visibility and I am ambitious for the brand’s future plans."
