Tattoo-Creating Robots

'Appropriate Audiences' Created a Robot Capable of Drawing Simple Tattoos

Appropriate Audiences created a tattooing robot that can tattoo simple and precise designs.

Appropriate Audiences created the robot by modifying a 3D printer by adding a tattooing needle for the machine to draw the designs. The body part where the tattoo will be is scanned and then the tattoo is applied to that area. Appropriate Audiences worked with the Applied Research Lab at Autodesk to create this tattooing robot with an industrial arm. Autodesk is hoping to open up the area of robotics that would enable other similar robotic projects of re-purposing industrial machines for human use.

The benefits of the tattooing robot are that it has a steadier hand than humans, will be able to create the exact design without human error and would be beneficial for people who aren't comfortable with other people touching them.
