Flexible Wireframe Fruit Bowls

The Appler Offers Adaptable Storage for Fresh Food

When full, a fruit bowl can introduce a rainbow of color into the kitchen, but when it's not in use, it can simply take away valuable space on counter top. The Appler serves up a simple yet clever solution to this problem by presenting the consumer with a retractable receptacle.

Kamil Laszuk designed the Appler 'Parking for Fruits' prototype with two sticks of oak joined together by 12 curvy copper rods spaced 1 inch apart. Oranges, pears and apples can quite happily sit snugly on top. But instead of creating a fixed object, the connections between the wood and metal are loose enough to afford bending in the frame which essentially alters the size of the rack. When all of your fresh fruit has been eaten, the Appler can easily be folded flat and put away.
