Candid Apple Store Captures

'Unintended Consequences' by Irby Pace Uses Everyday Test Photos

If you are one of the lucky few that have taken profile shots at an Apple store, you may be featured in 'Unintended Consequences' by Irby Pace. Pace is MFA student at the University of North Texas.

Pace started entering Apple stores around 2010 in Texas and New York City and began emailing himself images taken on popular products like the iPad and iPhone, collecting upwards of a 1,000 images.

The idea behind the project was to explore the behavior and change one might take if they knew what actually might happen with these photos. Pace believes that he has done nothing wrong by taking the photographs he discovered on the Apple devices.

This installation will make Apple store picture-takers think twice about opening Photo Booth the next time they are visiting the local store. Perhaps some will even get glammed-up in hopes of 15 minutes of fame.
