Hartmut Esslinger's Book Features Photos of Apple's Prototypes

Technology fans (and Apple owners) will enjoy browsing these photographs of Apple's prototypes.

Since Apple's products have become so ubiquitous in the past decade, it's hard to imagine a time when it was struggling to find a brand identity. Before it became the design powerhouse it is today, Apple brought in outside forces to help navigate its brand evolution.

Some of Apple's earliest designs came from outside designers at Frog. In his new book, 'Keep it Simple,' Frog founder Hartmut Esslinger recounts his famous collaboration with Steve Jobs. The book includes amazing photographs of the prototypes the two designers created. While the prototypes certainly do look familiar, they are a far cry from Apple's instantly recognizable, minimally designed products. The book is an interesting way to track the evolution of one of the largest technology companies in the world.
