Apple Cut Commission Fees for App Store Small Business Program Members
Daniel Johnson — December 28, 2020 — Tech
Apple will now reduce its commission fees for some of the companies involved in its App Store Small Business Program, which was initially launched last November.
Now Apple Store Small Business users who earn less than $1 million a year will be able to pay only 50 percent of fees from the App store. Typically the App Store requires developers to pay 30 percent of commission on sales and purchases made in applications, Apple has now reduced this amount to 15 percent.
Apple originally began accepting organizations into the App Store Small Business Program in December, with a scheduled launch taking place on January 1, 2021. However Apple has started the program early, and reduced commission fees are currently available.
