Widened Mobile Appstore Services

Apple's Appstore Can Now Host Unlisted Software

Apple has announced that it will begin accepting and hosting unlisted apps on its Appstore. These applications will only be accessible via a direct, external link and will not be discoverable through regular navigation in the Apple Appstore. In order to have an app hosted as an unlisted app, developers must fill out a request form and submit it to Apple.

This request form is meant to determine the eligibility of the application, as the fact that the apps are unlisted does not mean that they do not have to meet a certain level of Apple's standards. However, the unlisted apps have a lower requirement to get published than the officially listed applications. It is important to note that Apple has explicitly stated it will not accept incomplete, early-access apps through this service.
