In her latest series, 'Another November,' photographer Laura Stevens explores the feelings of loss, loneliness and yearning that come after a break up. The title is a reference to the month that Stevens' and her significant other parted ways.
Stevens photographed both friends and strangers, attempting to relate a profoundly painful, and deeply personal, narrative of lost love. She photographs her subjects looking despondent, listless and downright lost, a haunting emptiness to their gaze. The images include a woman staring in the mirror, almost as if searching for answers; another photograph depicts dinner for one.
Though each story is unique, unrelated to the rest, Stevens manages to capture a universal feeling of pain, isolation and confusion that comes with heartbreak.
