Childhood Innocence Photos

The 'Another 52 Weeks' Series Captures the Daily Life of Two Siblings

'Another 52 Weeks' is the title of an ongoing photo project, put together by Sea Cliff, New York-based photographer Melanie Acevedo, that documents the daily life of her children. The end result is a never-ending family photo album that is beautiful and poignant.

The project began four years ago when Acevedo's daughter Violet was eight years old and her son Rockwell was three. The photos trace the children through the seasons and back again, charting their growth from summer to summer and winter to winter until the next picture in another 52 weeks.

The photos are each complemented by statements recorded by Acevedo on the first day of each year. These statements read like diary entries and reflect on the past while looking forward to the future.
