Gisele Borges Arquitetura Designs a Striking Building

— August 22, 2022 — Art & Design
When visiting the capital of Brazil's Minas Gerais province, it will be hard for one to miss this angular apartment building, which was designed by Belo Horizonte-based architecture practice Gisele Borges Arquitetura. Known as Casamirador Savassi, the development spans nine stories in height and features 38 apartments. The architects needed to opt-in for the angular apartment building shape due to "local setback requirements." At the bottom of this structure is a three-story underground parking garage.

Aside from its irregular shape, Casamirador Savassi also features interesting window positioning and a perforated facade that is described as "second skin" by Gisele Borges Arquitetura. This feature is claimed to "offer views from the inside while protecting the residents' privacy."
