Amy Stein photography explores dark subject matter and her latest series was conceived as a reaction to the government’s fail to respond to the devastating flooding of New Orleans circa 2005.
Amy Stein spent the last five years traveling through America snapping real-life pictures of people in moments of desperation. She succeeded in gathering and forming a stunning group of captures. The collection of photographs deemed ‘Stranded’ is a culmination of pictures of motorists stuck on the side of the road, poor weather conditions and individuals occupying a lost space. The photographs are candid, endearing and Stein is able to create something beautiful out of mundane disaster.
Amy Stein photography is meant to provoke people to think, put themselves in the situations at hand and sympathize with human kind and the unforeseen circumstances that occur.
