Announced at the company's Mars conference was the newest edition of Amazon delivery drones. The company has been looking at delivery drones for some time, and with this announcement also came a design for the drones. The delivery drones could be a tool to help the company reach its goal of one-day shipping.
Amazon stated some information about the drones, including that they will be fully electric and autonomous, and can fly up to 15 miles in only 30 minutes while carrying five pounds of packages. The Amazon delivery drones have a vertical take off, much like a helicopter, and fly at heights of 400 feet. The drones would travel from places in the company's delivery network and then, with necessary packages, travel to customers' homes.
