Clean the Sky - Positive Eco Trends & Breakthroughs

The Aman Niseko Resort on Mount Moiwa is an Alpine Wellness Retreat

— October 16, 2025 — Art & Design
Aman Niseko will debut on the slopes of Mount Moiwa in Hokkaido as the brand’s fourth Japanese outpost. The resort, scheduled to open in 2030, will serve as Aman’s first full destination wellness property in Japan. The architecture pays homage to the mountain landscape with expansive glazing, clean lines, and natural materials that reflect the quiet minimalism of traditional ryokans. Each structure is positioned to frame the surrounding forest and snow-covered peaks, creating harmony between built form and environment.

The property will include 30 guest suites and 31 branded residences, each designed to immerse guests in nature. Private furo baths, onsen access, and a spa pavilion offering indoor and outdoor treatments define the wellness experience. Seasonal activities will range from ski-in, ski-out access in winter to cycling and hiking in warmer months, capturing Aman’s philosophy of balance, stillness, and connection to place.
