Zag brands itself as the "new alternative to alcohol-free beer," as it is an alcohol-free alternative that doesn't attempt to mimic the flavor of beer without the alcoholic content. The product brands itself as "refreshingly not beer" and is made with a base of matcha tea and botanicals like lemon, lime, mint and cucumber. The finished product is a non-alcoholic option that's free from artificial sweeteners and low in calories.
According to Jerry Goldberg, co-founder of Zag Drinks, "We have taken beer’s major attributes—a long, refreshing drink that’s not too sweet and looks good in a glass—and created an alcohol-free drink that delivers these without attempting to taste like beer.”
Whether they cannot or do not want to drink alcohol, many consumers are now exploring mindful drinking practices and no-alcohol products.
