Aizome by Ryota Yokozeki is a stunning furniture collection inspired by the old Japanese tradition of indigo dyeing. Although the tradition is old the collection itself is quite modern. Although once applied mostly to bedding and clothing, this Japanese designer decided to see what it would be like to explore the use in furniture.

Recently debuted at the Salone Satellite 2016, Aizome by Ryota Yokozeki moves away from fabrics by employing the use of oak, cork and cotton rope. Although the materials are quite different, the indigo brings them together harmoniously. It is comprised of three pieces: a chair, stool and lighting. The collection was created with the help of local craftsmen. Sleek and sophisticated, the designs are perfect for contemporary homes.
