AI Try-On Conversion Metrics

DRESSX's AI Try-On System Shows Higher Ecommerce Conversions

DRESSX published a 2026 study examining its AI Try-On system, a virtual fitting tool that uses silhouette mapping, fabric modelling and generative AI to show shoppers how garments appear on their own bodies before purchase. The report analyzed interactions from 1.2 million shoppers across 216 countries, comparing the behaviour of users who engaged with AI Try-On against those who did not.

The study found higher engagement across apparel, footwear, accessories and eyewear, with try-on usage increasing as product prices rose. DRESSX reported that shoppers using AI Try-On converted from product view to cart at approximately 11%, compared with 4% for non-users, while view-to-purchase conversion reached 3% versus 2%. The report also found that mobile accounted for most try-on activity and highlighted the value of first-party shopper data collected through virtual fitting sessions.

For fashion retailers, AI Try-On offers a way to improve shopper confidence by helping customers visualize fit, silhouette and fabric before purchasing. The findings also demonstrate how virtual try-on tools can support higher conversion rates while generating insights that inform merchandising, personalization and customer retention strategies.
