The Adult Swim Major Lazer Cartoon Has Been Given the Greenlight

The music of electro-house duo Major Lazer is set to come to the small screen as the Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim has just given the green light to a Major Lazer cartoon. Each episode of the Adult Swim Major Lazer cartoon will be 15 minutes long. Major Lazer hype man Skerrit Bwoy and the legendary reggae artist Lee “Scartch” Perry have already signed onto the cast.

Adult Swim is known for its off-the-wall cartoon shows aimed at college students pulling all-nighters. The Major Lazer cartoon won’t even be its first show based on a musical group. The hit series Metalocalypse is based on the fictional death metal band Dethklok and is already in its fourth season. I am incredibly intrigued to see what Adult Swim and Major Lazer come up with. If the show is a hit, it could potentially open doors for other musicians with a comedic vision.
