Jamie McMahon's Acoustic Alarm Wakes You With Soothing Sounds

— April 30, 2011 — Unique
I would gladly trade in my clock radio for Jamie McMahon's Acoustic Alarm. The Acoustic Alarm is a simple alarm clock designed to wake you up via the soothing sounds of an acoustic guitar.

This clock has a delightfully simple design and is made up of mostly birch plywood with a few pieces of metal here and there. The Acoustic Alarm can be tuned just like a regular guitar and plays chords using a built-in pick. The metal dials that set the alarm are located on the clock's side and keep with the clock's low-tech look. I personally love the idea of waking up to an acoustic guitar, but I wish this clock was a bit more functional. Call me old-fashioned but I would actually like to be able to tell time in addition to being woken up.
