The Abus 'Alarmbox' Monitors for Movement at All Times
Michael Hemsworth — February 1, 2020 — Tech
Bicycle theft continues to be a big problem for many urban areas around the world, so the Abus 'Alarmbox' has been developed by the Germany-based lock manufacturer to help cyclists avoid unnecessary loss.
The bike alarm works by being armed with the included key and will go to work immediately monitoring for any movement to detect if the equipment it's attached to is being moved or tampered with. The unit will then emit a short warning signal before sounding the main 100-decibel alarm for 15-seconds before rearming itself and resounding the alarm if the theft is still in progress.
The Abus 'Alarmbox' is developed with cyclist security in mind, but could also be used on trailers, tool sheds and much more.
