If you are entirely fed up with winter weather, this absinthe cocktail is worth trying because it's named after a Hemingway classic. From the blog 10th Kitchen, The Sun Also Rises includes ingredients like light rum, fresh lime juice, fresh grapefruit juice, maraschino liqueur and absinthe (of course). The alcoholic beverage is then garnished with a grapefruit twist. If you would rather abstain from the absinthe, you can also substitute Pernod. This absinthe cocktail is a fun turn from the typical water and sugar libation, the drink is also seasonally appropriate.
Once banned in the United States, absinthe has been legal in America since 2007. While it contains the thujone compound (which used to be believed to be mind-altering), the alcohol is not scientifically proven to cause hallucinations.
