The A1 Prehistoric is a Hand-Chiselled Stainless Steel Wristwatch

The A1 Prehistoric joins Anoma's watch collection with a limited-edition timepiece inspired by the forms and textures of prehistoric tools. The watch features a hand-chiselled stainless steel case and buckle, each requiring approximately five hours of engraving to create a unique surface finish. An engraved anthracite brass dial incorporates around 600 individually cut lines, while a Swiss automatic Sellita SW100 movement powers the compact 39-by-38-millimeter case with 50 meters of water resistance. A grey grained Italian leather strap completes the monochromatic design.

The watch measures 9.45 millimeters thick and adopts a lugless triangular case that wears closer to a 37-millimeter profile on the wrist. French engraver Steven Brunel hand-finishes every case and buckle, ensuring that each example differs through its chiselled textures and irregular surfaces.

Hand-chiselled Luxury
Hand-finished metal surfaces create premium differentiation where visible irregularity, maker provenance, and tactile uniqueness challenge the dominance of machine-perfect luxury goods.
Prehistoric Aesthetics
Ancient tool-inspired forms and textures signal a design shift toward raw, archaeological visual language that can distinguish modern products in saturated minimalist markets.
Micro-edition Craftsmanship
Limited production tied to labor-intensive finishing supports scarcity-led value models in which each object functions as both wearable utility and collectible artifact.

Textured metals, engraved finishes, and intentionally imperfect surfaces expand the appeal of high-end accessories beyond polished precious materials and standardized gem settings.
Artisan Manufacturing
Specialized craft studios gain relevance as luxury brands seek small-batch production methods that embed human skill, variation, and narrative into durable consumer products.
