It gives viewers a different perspective about the trials and tribulations refugees, in particular those attempting to escape the vicious war in Sudan, face when leaving their home in search of hope and peace. It focuses on the footwear these victims wear on their long journey.

Shot by photographer Shannon Jensen, the A Long Walk photo series brings much-needed global attention to the refugee crisis. Traveling to a camp with over 100,000 refugees, the 29 year-old had to come up with a unique way to capture their struggle when she noticed the state of the shoes these individuals carried. From young children to elderly seniors, their shoes were in a state of disrepair.
