The 'A Girl and Her Room' Series Takes You Inside Their World

Rania Matar (a photographer and mother) was inspired to create a project called 'A Girl and Her Room.'

Matar stated she was inspired by her own daughter who she noticed acted differently around her friends than when she was alone. Matar then took this to heart and decided to do this subtly beautiful photo series.

Matar gained relationships with the girls she photographed, enabling them to trust her and allow her into their private world: their room. Matar says that she "was slowly welcomed into their bedrooms, an area that is theirs, that they can fully control, decorate, trash and be themselves in – within an outside world that is often intimidating."

The 'A Girl and Her Room' series was shot worldwide and showcased many of the girls at their most vulnerable moments, creating an ultimate showcase of an innocent beauty.
