Tennis-Honoring Street Games

This Nike Tennis Court was Set Up on the Street to Honor the U.S Open

This Nike tennis court was created on the street in New York's Greenwich Village neighborhood in honor of the U.S Open's commencement. This court also honors the anniversary of a monumental Nike tennis ad. This year marks the 20th anniversary since Nike debuted its street tennis commercial.

The original ad featured Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras who were both present at the impromptu Nike tennis court. In addition, the creative street-made court welcomed tennis stars such as Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal and eight-time Grand Slam winner John McEnroe.

The massive event is estimated to have cost Nike about $1.1 billion. In honor of Nike's tennis advert and the U.S Open, this unique tribute is a creative way to give recognition to two sports-themed events.
