3D Bee-Made Sculptures

These 3D Prints Made by Bees Will Have You Buzzing

As part of the Dewar's campaign for its newly released honey-infused drink, the company has produced 3D prints constructed by bees.

The introduction of 3D printing has brought about the creation of many unique constructions, but not a lot of people and companies can say they've made 3D constructs with the use of live bees. The Scotch Whisky company is calling the method '3-B' printing. To create the 3-B bee-made sculptures, the company used 80,000 honeybees. The bees created the honeycomb designs inside custom-shaped sculptures.

The materials for 3D printing were normally confined to plastics, glass and paper, but now people can be inspired to create 3D prints with the use of other materials. From giant bottle designs to a man's bust, the 3D prints from the honey-makers don’t just look good, but also taste good.
