Few artists can stay culturally relevant for over 20 years, but the 1980’s rap-pop trio The Beastie Boys make it look easy. They came together in 1979 and by 1986, ‘License to Ill’ drove them to the top of the charts. The Beastie Boys revealed yesterday that they are to release a new album entitled, ‘Hot Sauce Committee,’ their first in two years.
If their successful appearance on last night’s ‘Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon’ was any indication, the Beastie Boys will have new younger fans to add to their already massive fan base.
We are seeing the 80s in fashion and cosmetics so much lately that it is inevitable music would begin to mimic that as well. I think the Beastie Boys are a good place to start.
