Spiked innovations are more ornamental than functional. Unless that function is to warn others to stay away less they might be impaled, these thorny things work quite well. It must be our masochistic tendencies that lead us to continually adorn everything from shoes to lights with pointy, poking, spikes. However, everyone needs to express their wild and dangerous side and what better way than with these spiked innovations?
Implications - Consumers are no longer looking for subtle styles. Designs that feature dark aesthetics and push the limits on what is considered feminine are appealing to female shoppers who want to stand out. Companies could focus on this desire for statement making in order to grow its audience.
