Famed Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russel Wilson recently sat down with TED to share a virtual talk on staying focused under pressure. Wilson begins by sharing a personal story about overcoming challenges that lead him to where he is today.
He recounts the joy he felt in 2010 when he was chosen as a fourth round pick for the Colorado Rockies, only to have the dream shattered by losing his father just one day later. He also fast-forwards to years later, when he won the Super Bowl Lombardi trophy and to the feeling of defeat a year later when he was unable to repeat the win alongside his team.
Even with challenges and difficult times, Russel Wilson names the power of "neutral thinking" as his secret to thriving under pressure both in regards to sports and his personal life.
