The Michael McDaniel natural disaster keynote speaks about how to bring relief to hundreds of individuals in a much better and faster way. McDaniel talks about how he became obsessed with finding a better, more efficient and more private way to house individuals suffering from the after-effects of a natural disaster.
McDaniel came up with a prototype for a shelter that could easily be produced and set up. These shelters would provide not only relief but also comfort for individuals and families. He says that they would also be easy to transport and store. Despite all of the positives, McDaniel has had a very difficult time trying to find anyone to produce them. McDaniel shares his struggle in the speech.
