In this global species keynote, world renowned biologist E.O. Wilson shares his special mission with the audience, on behalf of all the unknown species and small creatures on the planet. As he explains, if all the insects of the world were to be wiped out, humanity would disappear in only a matter of a few months.
Wilson makes a plea to the world to get over their ignorance to the millions of unknown species that exist on the planet today. In the past thirty years alone, biologists have discovered one third of existing species of amphibians to the list, as well two new kinds of whales and dozens of kinds of monkeys.
E.O. Wilson hopes that the future will be less ignorant towards the seemingly unimportant creatures and species that play a crucial role in maintaining and preserving the world's ecosystems.
